Sharing Asset Info with Family, Mechanics, and Insurers
Your partner needs the insurance policy number. Your mechanic wants the service history. Your insurer asks for photos and receipts after a claim. Sharing should be instant, not a 20-minute scavenger hunt.
Who needs access?
- Partner / family — so they can find info when you're not around
- Mechanic / tradie — service history, part numbers, manuals
- Insurance company — photos, receipts, valuations after a claim
- Buyer — complete history adds value when selling
Not everyone needs the same access
Your mechanic doesn't need to see what you paid for the car. Your buyer doesn't need your insurance details. That's why Keep-Ready uses permission levels:
- View — can see basic info only
- Contribute — can add service records and upload documents
- Manage — can edit the asset details
- Co-owner — full access, can share with others
Public share links
For one-off sharing (like sending service history to a buyer), you can create a public link. It's view-only, and you can add a PIN or require login for security. Set an expiry date so the link automatically stops working after the sale.
Everything stays private by default
Your data is yours. Nothing is shared unless you explicitly share it. Purchase prices, insurance details, and personal notes are hidden from viewers — only you and co-owners see the full picture.
